After what seemed like an eternity, I am finally in Boston! My parents threw me a going away party before I left so I was able to say good-bye to friends and family. My grandma even flew in from San Diego and helped me make some yummy white wine sangria! Then my boyfriend and I drove for 4 days with Lola in the car. 4 days! We were both a little apprehensive starting off with the drive because my boyfriend has never really been around dogs, and I wasn’t sure how the 3 of us would do in the car together! But, the drive was actually very nice. Granted, I could think of more fun things to do for 4 days, but it was fun to see parts of the country I had never seen before, the BF and I had great talks, and Lola was a champ! Here are some pictures from our drive:
Now we are settled in our new place in Cambridge. I absolutely love it here! Our apartment is awesome, which is a good thing since we signed our lease without even visiting! Our building is across the street from a beautiful park along the Charles River – Lola loves walking in the park, rolling in the super green grass, and chasing the bunnies. We walk every single day – sometimes we stay on our side of the river and go west in Cambridge towards MIT or go east and head into Charlestown, and sometimes we cross the bridge and wander around Boston. I can’t believe that we can walk across the bridge and be right in Boston! We have wandered around the North End to sample the Italian food, hung out in Fanueil Hall and Quincy Market, and the Back Bay near the Boston Commons (where we work). My office is right near the Boston Commons, and on nice days I walk home along the Charles River.
Every single day I wake up and think how lucky I am to be in Boston! Life is great! More pictures soon!
How is your summer going?
